Record Type
The data is grouped into very specific categories called files. When you are adding records, you must group them into the following selections. You will need to create a separate file when you change one of these components (for example, if you change from Liability Loss data to No-Fault Loss Data). The reason for this is that different record layouts and data elements are collected for each type of record.
Select Private Passenger or Commercial.
Select Premiums, Losses, or Outstanding Losses.
Select Subline: Liability, PIP (No-Fault) or Physical Damage.
There are two combinations that are not possible:
Private Passenger-Physical Damage-Outstanding Losses.
Commercial-Physical Damage-Outstanding Losses.
CAR does not collect this data.
Record Type
