Statistical Data Entry System

Add Records

  1. Click the Add Records button after submission criteria have been selected.

  1. The Add Statistical Data screen appears for the type of record that you specified in your selection criteria.  While not all fields are required, there are some that must be entered. They are indicated by a red asterisk.  This is true for all add record screens, no matter what the type of record.

  2.
  3. Click the "Add Record" button after inputting the information. This adds the record to the submission file and clears the screen for the next record.  On the upper right hand part of the screen, you can see the record number you're on.  The number increments each time you click the "Add Record" button.

  • CAR does only limited editing at the point of entry.  Primarily, CAR edits the fields for non-numeric characters in numeric fields only, such as class code, premium amount, exposure, etc.  CAR does not edit the data through its 52 edits until the data has been submitted to CAR and run through the front-end.

  1. Once you have completed adding the records for a file (for example, PP, Physical Damage, Paid Loss), you can:

  1. Verify the records you just entered by clicking the "Verify Records" button.

  2. Submit the file to CAR with just these records.

  3. Click the "New Submission Type" button, which gives you the ability to select a new file (for example, PP, Liability, Paid Loss).

Please reference the Verify Records section and Submit File section for more detailed information.
