SYSTEM REPLACEMENT IMPACTS
Replacement of Mainframe and Storage System
During January, CAR will be replacing its mainframe and storage systems, and as a result, there will be some
minor impacts to system availability and changes to the weekly processing schedule. Accordingly, please
take note of the following:
- The weekly Statistical and Correction Loads, which would normally run the evening of Wednesday, January
18th, will run the evening of Thursday, January 19th. Accordingly, companies should not expect to see updates
to the On-line Statistical Correction System until Friday, January 20th.
- CAR’s mainframe will be replaced on Saturday, January 21st and thus will be unavailable. Producers using
the MAIP Policy Application System should be prepared to provide the Base List Price (also known as Cost New) for
the determination of the Collision and Other-Than-Collision VRG on that day.
- CAR’s mainframe will not be available on Saturday, January 28th for additional hardware changes. Again,
producers using the MAIP Policy Application System should be prepared to provide the Base List Price for the
determination of the two VRGs on that day.
Any questions regarding the system availability and processing schedule changes should be directed to Wendy
