Governing Committee Meeting - February 18, 2010
In the matter of Allstate Insurance Company's petition to re-enter the Massachusetts
automobile insurance market as a Newly Writing Company pursuant to Rule 22, the
Governing Committee voted with one abstention, to approve the re-entry of Allstate
as a Newly Writing Company.
As recommended by the MAIP Steering Committee, the Governing Committee unanimously
voted to approve the modifications to Rule 21 of the CAR Rules of Operation. The
Rule 21 amendment was forwarded to the Division of Insurance on February 17, 2010.
The Financial Statements for Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2009, as prepared by
PricewaterhouseCoopers were unanimously approved by the Governing Committee.
Mr. Ralph Iannaco informed the Committee that CAR has initiated the Request for
Proposals (RFP) process for the following services:
Outside Legal Services
External Auditor
Commercial Automobile Program
Taxi/Limousine Program
The intent is to finalize the four RFP processes for presentation at the June Governing
Committee meeting.
